There are many species of endangered animals in the tropical rainforest.

South and Central America
The threatened animals in Central and South American rainforest include jaguars, tamarind monkeys, poison dart frogs, toucan birds and harpy eagles.

Africa and Madagascar
The most threatened species in African rainforest are gorillas and chimpanzees, but there are also species of other animals and birds such as parrots, which are threatened by pet trade and habitat destruction.

In Madagascar Island rainforests, most species of lemurs are threatened.

Asia
The most famous endangered species in Asian rainforest are bengal tigers and orangutans.

Oceania
Australasia Oceania rainforests also contain many endangered species, some of the most famous ones being Southern Cassowaries.
